About

Welcome!

Hello, I’m J.D. Bauer, Deacon-in-Training at St. John's Lutheran Church in Taylor, MI.

Welcome to my sermon archive and blog. Here, I am sharing my sermons, homilies, and etc. from God’s Word. Here you and I can see my progress and growth in my sermon writing and hopefully provide some encouragement in your own writing.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Sermon transcripts and outlines for deeper study.
  • Biblical teachings that apply to everyday life

  • Practical insights for walking out your faith with conviction
  • I believe the preaching of God’s Word is powerful, and it’s my goal to make each sermon accessible and impactful — equipping you to live in obedience to the gospel and to share it with others.

A Little About Me

I have been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for twenty years and am currently in the Deacon training program through the Michigan District of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Since 2022, I have had the honor and pleasure of writing and preaching, on occasion, on the Wednesday services during Lent and Advent under the supervision of my pastor, Rev. Dr. Richard Zeile. Recently, I have had the honor of leading and preaching non-communion worship services for other churches in my area, under the supervision and guidance of my pastor, Rev. Dr. Richard Zeile.

I’m grateful you’re here, and I pray that each sermon and post helps you grow deeper in your faith.

Blessings,
Deacon-in-Training, J.D. Bauer
